We took Josh to the Sydney Children's Hospital on Friday 7th Dec evening after his temperatures began to reach 38 - 39.8 degrees. . They did not have experience with "Exotic" viruses/ bacteria, they did some research on Google. They confirmed it was not chicken pox as they saw it. We came home that night, but were back there on Saturday as we were still not happy with his deterioration. They asked us to get a urine sample from Josh and have this tested. We ran round after him for 1 1/2 hours at home on Sunday trying to get the sample.
On Sunday we went back again cos Josh was now not balancing well, still not eating etc, and very spotty. They admitted him after being there 7 hours, and he then stayed for 3 nights. We started seeing an improvement after the first 32 hours, and he gradually got better from there. Here are some pic's of him eating - this is the second day in hospital. Other symptoms during the course of the illness were : He lost his appetite and did not eat for 6 days. He had occasional diarrhoea. The bite mark was red and inflamed, probably the size of the pinkie nail. Rash everywhere.

Our last night, Josh is much happier and now on Oral antibiotics as the drip fell out. So he is free to run around for the first time. but still in Isolation so we have our own room.Posted by Picasa

Ned Kelly at George Airport. During the holiday Josh became very attached to his pram, we even had him in it in the house.
